I read on the online news that there was this guy who kept getting broken in to so he set up his pc cam to switch on and record when someone moved in front of the webcam and then it emailed the snap shots via email.
How can this be done?

h. Click on Next
i. Try to choose a date last week or days ago that you are not having this problem.

good luck. I had someone get into my account, change all my info, security questions, all that, and never got it back. If it's a paid account, that might be a differant story. It generally doesn't take very long for them to respond, up to 48 hours during the week. Solving the problem, your guess is as good as mine.

I am visually impaired, how do I use email if I cannot read security codes required?
If you use Mozilla or Netscape browser, there are some servers that will allow you to save the username and password so it appears automatically when you log in. (Yahoo mail is not one of them) You can get into your email account with a minimum of looking at the screen and only using the mouse once. For instance, Mozilla broswer is the first thing on my windows start menu. Once online, the email account is the first thing on the favorites list. So if my computer is in sleep mode, here is how I get online and get my verizon email with DSL:
1. Windows key
2. wait 5 seconds
3. arrow down once (calling up the browser launches the dialer, with username and password already loaded as default)
4. enter
5. wait 5 seconds
6. alt + B
7. arrow down 3 times
8. enter
9. (username and password automatically filled in)
10. move mouse to Login button, left-click once
If your email sign in page is your default home page, you can skip steps 6, 7 and 8.

Don't think it is anything to do with Norton as most people are having problems with Yahoo today. Myself for one.
Norton Antivirus though is not very good and can cause more problems than it solves. I use Kaspersky which is a Russian antivirus if you search the web you can download this for free and unlike Norton you never have to pay anything, even for updates etc.

Norton caused major probs with my files and hard drive - locked them up tight - I could do nothing!! I found it was letting in trojan after trojan and so many viruses - basically - it's crap and a waste of money!!

Reply:There should be a preference for internet security settings that you can either increase or decrease. Did you download the upgrade from the website or from a CD?

Go to Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; and check under the Security Tab as well as the Privacy tab and see what the settings are. You may have to decrease your security settings. Sometimes helpdesk people go to deep to resolve the issue instead of looking at the simple things first.

There's no setting to allow that. Yahoo! doesn't allow ActiveX controls to run in email for security reasons.

I purchased Norton Security 2008 but I don't see where it was ever downloaded. I have a receipt on email?
The email I received confirming that I purchased Norton 2008 was sent to me but I don't see where I can go back into it to download it again. My computer shows that it was never downloaded. The order number is 2090340675

You see, that's why I tell people ALL THE TIME to BUY the disk at a local retail store. You end up with NOTHING.
But go back into the Norton Website and download again. This time, look at the folder that it is downloading too. Then use that activation number again.

u have to send a mail to yahoo mail service !
if it's too important and urgent then try for it !
otherwise dont try because many problems are there in that for you authentication !

The security question can only be changed by someone who knew your date of birth, original zip code, knew the exact question and answer, and had access to your alternate non Yahoo email account. Yahoo won't do anything if you gave all that information out.

If you dont know your secuiryt question, there is nothing you can do about it, except make another account. All email providers arethe same.

I am going to assume that you are allowed to change the setting. Usually, there is a tick box. Simply, click on the box/tick to change it.

Will you please stop making me enter a security code to send an email? Those codes are illegible. Its annoying
Those security codes are very hard to read. I might write my own reader to discern the codes, because I have trouble reading them myself. If I do, I will make it available on the web for everyone to use. There's got to be a better way to prevent spam.

We kept getting these messages at work and double-checked the certificates but it ended up being the customer's system date.

Why can't I type letters and numbers into the String Security Block to send Email? Its not that I can't see them. Its just that it will not let me type anything into the Verification Block?

They dont have an email system for customers, best bet is to persevere with the telephone as the new crappy jobcentreplus system doesnt cater for people dropping in and in al probability you will be sent away to the phones anyway, try calling later in the day as it is traditionally quiter at those times so probably have more sucess in getting through
P.s go easy on the staff, i used to work there and they are all nice people!

Reply:The website I've listed below will take you to all the available government and benefit sites available, however because of the wide range of issues the Dept of Social Security deals with actually getting in touch with them on the phone is extremely difficult (even staff working in other depts like the job centre have the same problem getting in touch) a visit in person is usually the best and only way besides phoning them all day every day until you finally get through.
It's all part of the governments brand new idea of making everyone contact one department by phone for appointments and help even though they have made nearly 15,000 staff redundant and now do not have the staff to man the phone lines.
It took me 3 weeks and 4 days to get through recently and that was phoning from office working hours till close just to get another number to phone to get an appointment, I'm now on my 6th day of phoning the second number (sigh)
Reply:If you can not get hold of them on the telephone go to the office in person, and refuse to move until a member of staff talks to you, they may not give you the answer you want, but they can't ignore you that way either. Give yourself a whole day - be at the front (or as near to the front as you can) when they open the doors in the morning, and take a bottle of water and fruit juice in case of a long wait.

They dont have an email system for customers, best bet is to persevere with the telephone as the new crappy jobcentreplus system doesnt cater for people dropping in and in al probability you will be sent away to the phones anyway, try calling later in the day as it is traditionally quiter at those times so probably have more sucess in getting through
P.s go easy on the staff, i used to work there and they are all nice people!
